Kathy Görg holds a B.S. in Art Education from Kutztown University as well as a Graduate Certificate in the Ceramic Arts from Hood College, Frederick, MD. Görg has been working with and teaching students of all ages for 20 years. She has taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels as well as the university level. She has taught a variety of community outreach adult education art courses. Her work is represented at several galleries across the nation.
Welcome to Summer Clay Camp! We are so glad that you have chosen Centered Earth for your child's Summer Camp Experience this year! Please read through the following information sheet to make sure that your experience is as positive as possible. If a class is cancelled by Centered Earth, a full refund will be issued within 30 days. Schedule changes happen, and we understand that! Registrations may be transferred between classes at no charge. No refunds can be made after registration has been paid. No adjustments can be made for student absences. Credits cannot be issued for classes missed as a result of illness, personal emergencies or any other event beyond our control.Full Day Clay Camp!Campers that are enrolled in both an a.m. and p.m. session are welcome to stay at Centered Earth during their lunch hour. (Campers must bring their own lunch). Registration & Enrollment:›Hand-delivered, mailed, and by phone registrations are accepted in the order in which they are received.›Early Registration is strongly advised. Decisions to hold a class are made on enrollment 3 DAYS before a class is due to run, and classes may fill quickly.›Receipts for registration will be E-MAILED. Please make sure that Centered Earth has an up-to-date e-mail address on file. This receipt serves as your confirmation of enrollment.›An updated Medical Release Form must be on file for each camper in order to participate in camp classes & activities. Please print your registration/release form at www.centeredearth.com or request your form from the front office.Drop Off & Pick Up:›Parents must drop off and pick-up students directly from their classroom. › Morning classes begin at 9:00 AM, afternoon at 1:00 PM. Please plan on waiting with your child in the lobby until 5 minutes before class begins.› Centered Earth will not be responsible for a child's supervision for more than 5 minutes before or after class.A Few More Notes…› Make sure your camper wears appropriate clothing. Some art materials can be difficult to remove from clothing! Please wear sneakers or other shoes with good tread to camps.
Joel Ryder holds a B.S. in Art Education from Mansfield University. He is currently working towards obtaining his M.F.A. in Ceramics from Hood College, Frederick, MD. Ryder has many years experience working in clay. He has taught elementary, middle, and high school students as well as adult education classes. In addition to nearly ten years teaching experience, Ryder brings to the studio courses an absolute love of clay!
Centered Earth Clay Arts Studio & Gallery is a facility for creating and exploring all aspects of the ceramic arts. We aim to make a difference in our community by offering exciting and educational programming that engages students of all ages and abilities. Our focus will be on active learning and experimentation through classes, workshops, and special events. Our Studio is equipped with eight pottery wheels, an extruder, a slab roller, work tables, a glazing station and three electric kilns. We stock several clay bodies, many glazes, and have tools available for purchase. Our attached gallery features a diverse collection of contemporary ceramics by nationally recognized artists.
